On December 6th, German kids get very excited. It’s St.Nikolaus day! You have to put your shoes outside the door before you go to bed on the 5th, and Nikolaus will come at night to fill them with gifts (mostly gingerbread, chocolate, nuts, clementines etc.)… at least that’s the case if you were a good child. Everything is written down, kids… no cheating possible… it’s all written down in his golden book. So if you were good, he’ll compliment you for it and will leave lots of yummy treats.
If not… well, I’ll tell you tomorrow.

I’m telling you, Germany stole a Dutch holiday.
